Central Outreach Hub is a peer-led space in downtown Calgary at 131 7th Avenue SW. People drop in to warm up, eat, rest, and talk with peers. The space is open through the week and you do not need to call ahead.
You can drop in any time the room is open. There is usually no appointment or referral required, and you can stay for the time you have. A peer at the door will greet you and help you find what you need.
People drop in for different reasons. Some come for the coffee and a warm seat. Some come for a community meal on Tuesdays and Thursdays, or a Good Neighbor meal on Fridays and Saturdays. Some come to talk with a peer about something they are working through. All of that is what the room is for.
The space is at 131 7th Avenue SW, on the 7th Avenue free fare zone for C-Train. The entrance is at street level on 7th Avenue SW.
One thing worth noting: Central Outreach Hub is a separate space from the Calgary Drop-In Centre. If you were looking for the Drop-In Centre at 1 Dermot Baldwin Way SE, that is a different organization a few blocks away.
Frontline workers, family members, and friends are welcome to come in alongside the person they are walking with. There is no referral to send in advance, and no form to fill out at the door.
